For the past 6 years DecoR Stone has proudly provided materials and expertise to help TAFE students get hands on experience.
Each year DecoR Stone arranges for a tiling expert from Mapei to come in and teach the students about correct application techniques.
Other Tafe colleges including Homesglen Northern and Kangan have taken advantage of this training opportunity.

There’s a nice feeling when dealing with businesses that have stood the test of time, especially when the business has stayed in the family across many generations. This is something both DecoR Stone and Walkers have in common. Walkers have just celebrated their 110th anniversary across 4 generations with an exclusive Designer Night aimed at their extensive builder and architect cliental. DecoR Stone; with its own 40+ year history over 3 generations, is proud to be a decorative stone supplier for Walkers, and as such we received an exclusive invitation to attend this event.
We are always delighted to support our resellers wherever possible and this night was no exception. The spectacular DecoR Stone display presented our natural stone in an abstract theme of rustic, autumn, and earthy colours. Our collection showcased products including Crazy Paving, Ledge Stone, and Stacked Stone in colours of Russet and Bisque. Sample boards were distributed throughout the display to assist builders, whereas tree branches and autumn leaves were scattered across the purpose built display, as pictured here, to add the creative touch for architects and interior designers.http://walkers.com.au/
DecoR Stone along with Watersun Homes, St. Kilda Football Club, and FDJFL Footy Foundations are coming together for an exciting new community project that will provide equipment, financial grants, and league support to 150 teams in the Frankston & District Junior Football League.
The Frankston & District Junior Football League was formed almost fifty years ago in order to provide a high standard of organized sport to junior footballers.
The project involves the sale of a luxurious and remarkably beautiful house, built by Watersun Homes and accented by DecoR Stone’s Turkish Travertine at the exclusive Sandhurst Club Estate.
In addition, the buyer of the home will also receive a Sandhurst Club Golf and Health Club membership
The home consists of a beautiful external design and offers a generous 4 Bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, multiple living areas and double garage. The most eye-catching feature is clearly visible from its exterior being a beautiful silver Travertine accented to the outside of the homes central facade.
DecoR Stone has been in business since 1975 and since then has managed to be apart of some great community projects in the past and will be in the future. This New Home project differs in a way, as it gives Décor Stone the opportunity to showcase their beautiful Silver Travertine product as an attractive feature of this Watersun Home while being a part of such a great cause to help in the local community.
This project offers a real world look into this amazing application of Travertine and how it can impact a homes design externally as well as internally. When thinking Travertine, please call the team at Décor Stone to find out how we can transfer your home or next project with our top quality Travertine.
Some give presents and flowers to express their love to their significant other. However in the life of a penguin, the most valuable offering is the smoothest looking pebble that can be found!
When Melbourne Aquarium chose DécoR Stone to be the supplier of this loving cause, we were more than happy to donate pebbles. After all, we knew our pebbles would have the best shape, colour, and quality to resemble ‘love tokens’ for the penguins.
At Melbourne Aquarium penguin breeding season is underway, and this tradition of stealing pebbles occurs once every year. The female penguins sit on nesting rings while the males run around collecting pebbles as ‘love tokens’. Some cheeky penguins even steal pebbles from nearby nests and pretend they found them.
350,000 sufferers in 1985 to 219 in 2012 – Unbelievable.
Polio is not something that we think of day-to-day yet for many years polio myelitis killed twice as many Australian children as any other childhood disease. While many people know of the work that Rotary does in this field were you aware of the many other works that they support in both Australia and Overseas?
Geoff is huge supporter of Rotary and if you have a waiting room around the Burwood, Box Hill area where lots, and lots, of people need something to read would you be prepared to put a Rotary Down Under book in that room -the book highlights a selection of the many good projects that this organisation does and to read it will amaze.
When the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre contacted Décor Stone looking for pebbles for a special display for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, DecoR Stone didn’t hesitate to assist, and would not accept any payment, with even Geoff delivering them himself to the Austin Hospital (conveniently situated not too far from Latrobe Golf Club – need we say more!).
As part of the valuable events over next month, the centre is going to create an installation of rocks in the shape of the Pink Lady. The rocks will be then painted by an artist in different shades of pink and then patients will be able to write a message or a word on the rocks and place it on the installation.www.oliviaappeal.com
